BEN`S TIPS of the Day 30.7.20

I enjoyed a good day yesterday and I hope I can hit the back
of the net again today. The 1.45 looks pretty open and I don’t think it’s as
strong as you first think so I’m going to take a punt on LUCANDER at a wild price. Ralph Beckett’s horse was a tough and
consistent two year old and reappeared at Haydock this season with a run full
of promise. He has since disappointed at Newmarket but he wouldn’t be the first
to do that and I’m sure he won’t be the last so I wouldn’t read too much into
that. This step up to 10f should be right up his street and I think he could
have plenty of mileage left in his current mark.

                The
Nassau Stakes is always a highlight of the summer and this year’s renewal looks
a proper renewal. I’m siding with FANCY
BLUE for Donnacha O’Brien as I really rate the French Oaks form and I think
with all the allowances she gets here, she is a belting bet at 9/4. She has a
bit to prove but so does most of the field and I’d fancy my selection to
improve past them all. She is closely related to High Chaparral so is clearly
bred for the job and from what we have seen so far, she is high class on the
track too.

                The
Galway Hurdle is the feature race at Galway today and I think Willie Mullins
has got it all tied up. I was denied a big win with ARAMON at Cheltenham as he just bumped into Saint Roi but he put
the record straight last time out as he accounted for Petit Mouchoir with the
minimum of fuss. He has a big job on his hands tonight with top weight but he
has plenty of class and as long as the ground stays good I think he should be
bang there.

                If the
weight is too much then I think his stablemate BUILDMEUPBUTTERCUP can pick up the pieces. She has proven herself
to be a top class mare over the past few years and does boast some vital course
form to her name. She finished in behind Aramon at Cheltenham but re-opposes
here on better terms and I can see this strong travelling mare fighting out the
finish.
