Ben`s Tips of The Day 19.09.20

Today is my last day tipping before a week
away from the racing so I’m hoping to go out with a bang. I have 3 bets today
and first up is THE CITY’S PHANTOM at
Newbury. This caught my eye at first as Little Miss Saturday is on board and
she is one of only a few jockeys that can do 8 stone and given the choice out
of them I would choose Hollie Doyle every time. Richard Spencer trains this
horse and he must think he has an outstanding chance of gaining a big Saturday
winner given how the form of his last run has worked out. He beat Nasraawy
quite comfortably that day who has won comfortably since and also ran second
earlier this week off 86 (could have finished closer had race been run to
suit). That looks good form and it’s worth remembering The City’s Phantom runs
off 82 today. He has had a break since which shouldn’t bother him and I can see
him running a big race with such a low weight.

BRUNCH has been a highlight of the flat
season for me as I have followed him most of the year and he has rewarded me in
spades. His win at York last time was a career best and it’s clear he is still
on the upgrade. I thought connections may step him up to 1m 2f next time but they
stick to a mile here and I think he may just have another win at a mile in him,
providing the race is ran to suit. He could still be hiding plenty from the
handicapper.

            Kevin
Ryan’s QUEEN’S SARGENT has been
holding her form well this season and a reproduction of her few efforts will
see her go close here. She first caught my eye when staying on from an
uncompromising position at Chester before then running a big race when on the
wrong side at Ascot last time out. This is a big step down in grade and at 11/2
she is a free each way bet.

Newbury 2.15 – The City’s Phantom – 2pts e/w

Ayr 4.15 – Brunch – 2pt win

Ayr 5.25 – Queen’s Sargent – 2pts e/w
