Goshen set for Cheltenham return

Goshen won’t contest the Betfair Fighting Fifth Hurdle and is instead expected to make a return in the International Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Gary Moore’s hurdler was ruled out of last Saturday’s Grade 2 Coral Hurdle at Ascot following an unsatisfactory scope.

The trainer revealed afterwards that the Fighting Fifth Hurdle was a potential return date but Goshen was absent from the confirmations for Saturday’s showpiece at Newcastle.

The exciting four-year-old is now expected to return to action next month at Cheltenham in the International Hurdle.

Epatante is the odds-on favourite after confirmations for the Fighting Fifth Hurdle, with last year’s winner Cornerstone Lad and Sceau Royal also set to be involved at Newcastle.
