It looks to be a low key start to the New year as there isn’t much quality on show for the next week or so, which makes life tough for tipsters like myself. The soft ground up and down the country doesn’t help either as it makes for hard work and strange results.
My first tip of the year is a speculative one and I’m banking on Henry Daly improving his already impressive Fakenham record. The Shropshire handler operates at around 30% when sending horses to Norfolk and that is a very decent strike rate so I’m hoping it’s a clue in itself that he sends THE WREKIN all the way to Fakenham in the bumper. Richard Johnson is booked to do the steering and although it looks a fair bumper, it wouldn’t be setting the world alight I don’t think and it looks a reasonable opportunity for this point winner to make his debut.
It’s a bit ‘guessy’ but I am working on solid enough clues and at 6/1 I’m happy to take the chance.
Fakenham 3.25 – The Wrekin
